Virtual Conference
EmTech Asia, the region’s most influential conference on emerging technologies that matter, will be hosted as an exclusive invite-only virtual event from 4 – 6 August 2020. It will take place in 4 hour blocks from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM daily (Singapore Time, GMT +8) across 3 days instead of the previous 2 days to maximise learning bandwidth and active participation for all.
[Can Computers Teach Themselves?] AI is everywhere, but what we are really witnessing is a supervised-learning revolution: We teach computers to see patterns, much as we teach children to read. However, the future of AI depends on computer systems that learn on their own, without supervision, researchers say.
On 4 August, the President and Vice-President (Research and Development) of Hong Kong Baptist University will speak on:
- Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice Chancellor, on "Making Decisions on Behalf of Humans: Designing Intelligent Systems" at 10:30am (SGT/GMT+8).
- Professor Yike Guo, Vice-President (Research and Development), on "Beyond Vaccines: R&D Efforts to Address the New Normal" at 11:10am (SGT/GMT+8).
