Prof. Kim Sau CHUNG

Professor CHUNG Kim Sau is a Professor of Economics in the School of Business at HKBU. He is also the Director of the School’s Centre for Business Analytics and the Digital Economy, a core member of the University’s Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Cluster, and a member of the University’s Data Economy Lab.

Professor Chung obtained his PhD at University of Wisconsin in 1999. Before joining HKBU, he taught at Northwestern University, University of Minnesota, University of Hong Kong, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently a distinguished visiting professor at Tsinghua University, and has previously been visiting associate professor at Tel Aviv University, Fudan University, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has been published in Econometrica, American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Theoretical Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Development Economics, etc. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Mechanism and Institutional Design, and an Editorial Advisor (equivalent to an Associate Editor) of the Canadian Journal of Economics. Starting from September 2020, he will serve as an Associate Editor of the Pacific Economic Review, and a Panel Member of the Policy Innovation and Coordination Office.
