Dr. Jingyuan Jolie SHI

Dr. Jingyuan Jolie Shi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interactive Media. Dr. Shi’s research interests converge at the intersection of persuasion, health communication, and new media. Her current research focus on the effects of health promotions in the context of social media as well as the content and diffusion of health information in online communities. Her research offers implications for developing theory-driven health promotion strategies and also covers significant public health issues, such as mental health promotion, organ donation, cancer prevention, and HIV/ADIS control. Dr. Shi’s work has appeared in top-tier communication journals such as Health Communication, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and Communication Research. She won several research awards, including Top Paper Awards from the Honors Symposium for Asian Ph.D. Students in Communication Research and Top Paper Award from the International Communication Association (ICA).
